So every morning i wake up at 6:30 (ok really 7:20) to be at the office at 8, a full hour before my colleagues arrive. I am charged with the painfully mundane task of "media monitoring." basically i spend the first hour and a half of every day sifting through hundreds of Google Alerts and CustomScoop emails to find mentions of the products which i represent. (Fear of legal repercussions - and the fact that i almost like them - keep me from disclosing more.) One of the key words i monitor for is a ten-letter word beginning with pro and ending with biotics. (can't write it or it'll show up in monitoring.
Long story short, this is the most boring part of my day...however this morning, the first GoogleAlert I clicked on had this gem:

This is perhaps the most accurate representation of what healthy bacteria do in your gut and i couldn't stop laughing. I think the humor was lost on the majority of my associates when they finally rolled into the office...but suffice it to say, it is now the background of my computer.

Four things worth mentioning from my weekend:

1) Rickard is a hardass and sooo much fun.

2) when you hear scurrying and nails on cement ceiling tiles coming from above you in the Japanese restaurant from which you just consumed 10 pounds of sushi, its in your right to ask for a discount.

3) Cafe Lalo owns you.

4) Happy meds only make you happy when you are taking them. Thye have the opposite effect when you stop taking them.

3 things that are worth mentioning today:


1) my job is literally killing me - i woke up with crazy intense chest pains. being the hardass that i am i went to work anyway before i decided i should probably see someone about it. Fast forward to the dr.'s office (i see a nurse practitioner and she's amazing) where i have to do an EKG and answer a bunch of questions. long story short, choices are quit my job, take some happy pills or have a heartattack before I'm 30.

3) A chick i went to college with is coming to visit for a few days in a couple of weeks. I was never really friends with her, but i feel like we probably should have been. cuase she's awesome...and i'm awesome...makes sense, right?
